Assignment #1 (1 paragraph minimum)- State the title and author of your independent novel. From there, explain the plot of the novel. Last, explain whether or not you reccommend this novel to your peers. Why or why not? Also, feel free to respond to your classmates' reviews of their independent novels. You may choose to ask them questions regarding their novels.
Assignment #2- Continue to read your independent novel at your own pace. All independent novels must be complete by Monday, March 22nd. Your final independent novel project will be due on Wednesday, March 24th. That assignment will count for two test grades towards your third marking period grade.
Assignment #3- Create a Wikispace for the main character in your independent novel. This wikispace can be set up as a "new page" under your own page. Have the title of the new page be the character's name and the book name (example: Maria from West Side Story). From there, your page must have the following:
1. A general "about me section" of the page. This is the section where you tell me about your character (as if you are them).
2. A short statement for each of the following regarding your main character- Interests, hobbies, job, education, sports, favorite music, favorite tv shows and movies.
3. Pictures of your character (find actual celebrities who you think look like they would or do) .
4. Pictures of your character's friends
5. Add a song/video to their page. You may want this song to be like their "theme song". This would be very similar to what we did for our "West Side Story Sountracks".
Once complete with this assignent, copy the web address for the page and post it as a discussion on this page. Have the title of the assignment be character's name and novel (example: Maria from West Side Story). Also, have the body of the discussion just be the web address. This assignment will count as two (2) test grades and should be taken VERY seriously. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me through e-mail.
